nn Lovelady, of Desert Wind Farms, has always loved horses. It must be in her blood, since Ann's mother is a horse lover as well. She grew up riding horses with her best friend. Creativity also runs through her blood, since Ann's father has always had a knack for making things. She hasalways enjoyed art and creating things as well. To this day, she would love to make a career out of art.
Her parents bought Ann her first Breyer when she was a preteen. It was the buckskin Chincoteague pony. She sold it on eBay several years ago. Ann dabbled into tack making here and there during her teen years, as well as collecting model horses during these years.
It was not until her first year of college in the fall of 1998, when she discovered the hobby online, that Ann realized how big a hobby model horse collecting was. She has to blame the Model Horse Gallery (this site) for getting her completely into the hobby. Ann would spend hours on this site between classes, looking at countless pictures of model horses and artists who painted them.
Ann's favorite breed of horse has always been the Arabian. She loves their beauty as well as their history. She has always been fascinated by the Arabian culture as well as dress. During college she got back into tack making. She has made English and Western tack, but created mainly Arabian tack pieces. Ann soon began to focus on just making Arabian tack. She would love to create other pieces, but continues to enjoy making Arabian tack for the time being. When she discovered eBay several years ago, she started to sell my costumes on the site. Ann usually sells her costumes through eBay, but has had several private sales. The few times she has received feedback about her costumes in shows, they have done well. The first few costumes she made even placed at the Model Horse Jamboree when it was held in Pomona, Ca!
Ann still sells her work mainly through auction sites, usually eBay, but she does take orders!
